Nepal beats MR Academy by 33 runs in Top End T20 Series

Nepal has defeated MR Academy b 33 runs in the 22nd match of the Top End T20 Series held in Australia.

Nepal restricted MR Academy to 106 runs while the latter was chasing the 140-run target.

To restrict the opponent from reaching the target, Sompal Kami took the highest 4 wickets giving away 17 runs while Kushal Bhurtel grabbed 2 wickets. Similarly, Shahab Alam and Rupesh Singh and Kushal Bhurtel gook 1 wicket each for Nepal.

Arjun Nair's 26-run was the highest for MA Academy. Wicket keeper Jai Lemire scored 18 runs while Harry Dixon and Oliver Peake 16 and 14 runs respectively. Similarly, Harry Hoekstra contributed 11 runs. The other batsmen could score double-digit runs.

Earlier, electing to bat first after winning the toss at the Cazalys Arena Palmerston, Nepal notched up 139 runs losing nine wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Kushal Malla topped the score with 29 runs including 1 four and one 6 off 22 balls followed by Dipendra Singh Airee and Lokesh Bam with 27 and 24 runs, respectively. Similarly, Bhim Sarki, Rupesh Singh and Aarif Shekh contributed 17, 16 and 12 runs, respectively.

On the bowling side, Fergus O'Neill, Callum Stow, Lachlan Bangs and Michael Archer grabbed 2 wickets each for MR Academy.
