Police have arrested a youth on charges of murdering Rubikumari Sah of Madhav Narayan Municipality-2, Mudbalwa, Rautahat.
The arrested individual is Laxman Paswan, a resident of Madhav Narayan-6, according to DSP Raju Karki of the District Police Office, Rautahat.
"We arrested him this morning in the area near his own home, on the path of the canal in Madhopur, Madhav Narayan Municipality-6," DSP Karki told Nepalkhabar. "He was found to have set himself on fire. He was arrested in an injured state. After the arrest, he has been admitted to the hospital."
Rubi's body was found inside a suitcase near the gate of Divyajyoti School located on the Gaur-Sirsiya road section in Gaur Municipality-9 on Saturday night.
Police claim that Paswan had rented a rickshaw to dispose of Rubi's body and fled after abandoning the body on the road when the rickshaw broke down on the way to the destination.
The driver of the e-rickshaw used to dispose of the body, Laxman Mahara of Gaur, had already been arrested by police.
It has been found that Paswan, arrested on charges of Rubi's murder, had only returned to Nepal from Malaysia a few days ago. DSP Karki informed that further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
