In a bid to expand the cabinet, names of three more individuals have been sent to the Office of the President for appointment in the interim government led by Sushila Karki.
According to sources, the individuals are Mohna Ansari, Jagdish Kharel, and Mahabir Pun.
Ansari, a human rights activist, will be appointed to a ministry yet to be announced. Kharel, a journalist, will take charge of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, and Pun, a scientist, will head the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology.
The Office of the President is preparing to appoint and administer the oath of office to them today.
In the Karki-led government, Rameshwar Khanal, Kulman Ghising, and Om Prakash Aryal have already been appointed as ministers.
Khanal is in charge of the Ministry of Finance, Ghising is leading the Ministry of Energy, Physical Infrastructure, and Urban Development, and Aryal is responsible for the Ministry of Home Affairs and Law.
Prime Minister Karki has already stated that the cabinet will not exceed 11 members, including the Prime Minister.
