The Nepali Embassy in Abu Dhabi has urged Nepalis working in the United Arab Emirates to abide by the country's rules.
Issuing a press note on Tuesday, the embassy requested Nepalis working in various professions and businesses in the UAE to always remain dignified and disciplined in their work, be honest and dutiful toward their profession, and fully comply with the rules, laws, values, and discipline of the UAE.
"For some time now, the embassy has been receiving daily reports of an increasing number of Nepalis in the UAE getting into trouble due to activities like alcohol consumption and fighting, banking offenses, mutual cash transactions and disputes, drug trafficking, misuse of Emirates ID, cybercrime, violation of immigration and traffic rules, and the allure of freelance visas," the embassy stated. "Since all these acts are punishable under UAE law and regulations, the embassy sincerely requests the entire Nepali community to be aware of and take special precautions regarding the following issues."
Following the recent Gen-Z movement, the UAE has stopped issuing visit visas to Nepalis and has tightened its working visa regulations.
