Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has claimed that cases stalled due to political influence will see a breakthrough.
During his inspection of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) on Friday morning, Minister Aryal instructed CIB Chief Additional Inspector General (AIG) Dr. Manoj KC that the past practice of cases being obstructed or disrupted due to "political connections" would no longer continue.
Aryal stressed that the government's mandate is good governance, which he views as essential for maintaining peace and security and for holding elections within six months.
Taking stock of ongoing investigations at the CIB this morning, Aryal directed that inquiries must not be stopped under any influence in the presence of Inspector General of Police Chandra Kuber Khapung.
The Home Minister highlighted the need for a leap forward in good governance, asserting that the previous government and people's representatives failed because they couldn't deliver it.

Aryal emphasized that good governance is the "first condition" and that the government must remove the obstacles faced in the investigation of economic, financial, and corruption cases due to political connections in the past. He said he has given instructions accordingly.
Aryal further directed the CIB to demonstrate professionalism and take forward all pending investigations, start new ones if necessary, and focus on the entire scope of crime rather than just specific issues.
Significantly, Dr Manoj KC, who was previously sidelined by the former government and assigned to the Provincial Coordination Department, was appointed CIB Chief by the current administration. KC had, previously, investigated the high-profile fake Bhutanese refugee scam case.
