Flash flood sweeps away four young people from Bhaktapur in Rasuwa

A flash flood that occurred in the Bering Rivulet of Gosaikunda Rural Municipality-4, Rasuwa, has swept away four young people from Bhaktapur on Saturday evening.

A group of 16 people from Bhaktapur had gone to visit Langtang. They had stayed at Hotel Bamboo and Lodge on Friday night (October 3). According to the Rasuwa District Police Office, they were heading toward Langtang today when the stream swept them away around 6 am this evening.

The missing individuals are identified as Sanskriti Shrestha of around 25 years from Madhyapur Thimi Municipality, Bhaktapur; Kishan Shrestha (same age); Sangita Shrestha; and Ravi Shrestha, 23, of Bhaktapur Municipality-10.

After the incident, Roj Karmacharya, who was with the tourists, informed the police. Subsequently, a joint team of 22 security personnel has been deployed for the rescue operation.

The police reported that the location is about a six-hour walk north of the Langtang Police Post and about a six-hour walk east of the Syaprubesi Police Post.
