General Secretary of Nepali Congress, Gagan Kumar Thapa, has proposed holding the party's 15th General Convention on regular time at the ongoing office-bearers and former office-bearers' meeting underway at the central party office in Sanepa.
Former General Secretary Shashank Koirala, who is participating in the meeting, informed that General Secretary Thapa put forth the proposal at the ongoing meeting.
"The General Secretary Thapa in the meeting proposed that NC must go for a regular general convention," Koirala stated.
Meanwhile, General Secretary duo Thapa and Bishwa Prakash Sharma are also collecting signatures calling for a special general convention.
If held on regular time, the 15th General Convention of Nepali Congress will take place by mid-December.
Meanwhile, President Sher Bahadur Deuba has urged the office-bearers to move ahead in unison.
Sending a message to the meeting, President Deuba made this request. The message was delivered by Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka who is chairing the meeting today.
"President has urged the all the office-bearers to move ahead in unison," an office-bearer quoted Vice President Khadka as conveying the message in the meeting.
Deuba did not attend the meeting today.
