Nepal has set a 212-run target for Samoa in the last match of Super Six under the ICC Men's T20 World Cup East Asia Pacific Qualifiers underway in Oman.
Invited to bat first after losing the toss at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground in Oman on Friday, Nepal notched up mammoth 211 runs losing 4 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Aasif Sheikh topped the score with 69 runs studded with 7 fours and 4 sixes off 41 deliveries. Similarly, Dipendra Singh Airee scored 53 runs including 2 fours and 4 sixes off 33 balls while Lokesh Bam, captain Rohit Paudel and Kushal Bhurtel 39, 21 and 17 runs, respectively.
In reply, Daniel Burgess, Saumani Tiai, Darius Visser and Noah Mead took 1 wicket each for Samoa.
Nepal is on the top spot of the points table with eight points.
Nepal will clinch the title of ICC Men's T20 World Cup Asia and East Asia Pacific tournament if it defeats Samoa today. Samoa has already been out of the World Cup qualifier.
Nepal has already been qualified for T20 World Cup to be organized in India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8, 2026.
Nepal had entered the Super Six by defeating Japan and Qatar in Group-stage matches and won all matches in Super Six so far.
Similarly, UAE is in second place with six points and Oman in third place with six points. UAE and Oman have also been qualified for T20 World Cup, 2026.
