All political parties except CPN (UML) have stated that there is no alternative to elections in the meeting called by Prime Minister Sushila Karki.

Emerging from the meeting on Wednesday evening, Prakash Jwala, Vice-Chairman of CPN (Unified Socialist), informed that all parties except CPN (UML) are focused on the elections.

According to Jwala, UML remained adamant on the restoration of Parliament.

"The next goal is the elections. The parties had a common understanding to go for elections and then implement constitutional amendments," Jwala said. "UML’s stance is the restoration."

Jwala told Nepalkhabar that he argued in the meeting that it was inappropriate for the same party that dissolved Parliament twice to speak of restoration.

"It's pointless to push for restoration," he said. "It is not plausible for the party that dissolved Parliament twice to insist on restoration."

Even the representatives of Gen Z maintained that there is no option but to hold elections, Jwala said.
