A young man has killed his father and seriously injured his mother in Gulmi district.
Fifty-year-old Dhan Bahadur BK of Hwandi Mehele, Malika Rural Municipality–3, was murdered by his own son over a minor domestic dispute.
According to Superintendent of Police, Narayan Prasad Adhikari, Dhan Bahadur was murdered by his 25-year-old son, Top Bahadur BK. Police stated that he attacked his father and mother following a domestic dispute.
He killed his father and seriously injured his mother by attacking them with a sharp weapon and a wooden club. His father died instantly on the spot following the son's attack.
The seriously injured mother, 48-year-old Dhanmaya BK, was given initial treatment at Gulmi Hospital and then referred to Lumbini Medical College, Palpa, for further treatment.
Police have stated that the young man involved in the murder was immediately taken into custody and that the investigation has been moved forward. The body of the deceased has been kept at the District Hospital, Gulmi, for post-mortem.
