Writ filed against formation of Madhesh govt

A writ petition has been filed in the Supreme Court against the formation of the government in Madhesh Pradesh.

Rakki Prasad Sah and Sujit Yadav have filed the petition against the Madhesh Province government formed in accordance with Article 168 (3) of the Constitution of Nepal.

The Office the Province Chief, the Office of the Chief Minister, and the Madhesh Provincial Assembly have been named as the defendants in the petition.

"The writ petition was filed after Province Chief Sumitra Subedi Bhandari formed the government in Madhesh Province in accordance with Article 168 (3) by breaching Article 168 (2) of the Constitution," said Rakki Prasad Sah.

The petitioners have expressed confidence that the apex court will defend the provisions of the Constitution.
