The Commission of Inquiry into the Gen Z Incident has sent a letter barring former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chandra Kuber Khapung from traveling abroad.

According to Bigyan Raj Sharma, the spokesperson for the Commission, the letter stipulates that the travel ban is effective starting today, and Khapung must also obtain the Commission's approval even to travel outside the Kathmandu Valley.

The Commission has stated that it can summon him for a statement at any time and that he must be present when called.

Previously, the Commission had made a similar decision to prohibit travel abroad and require permission to leave the Kathmandu Valley for others, including former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and his cabinet member Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak.

Khapung retired from the Nepal Police after completing his tenure of service on Wednesday night.
