AI can lead nation toward prosperity: Communications Minister

Minister for Communications and Information Technology,JagadishKharel has said that his visit to the 'Seoul AI Smart City Centre' in South Korea has energized his efforts in the AI sector in Nepal.

After touring the 'Seoul AI Smart City Center' operated by the Seoul AI Foundation, he remarked that AI could play a significant role in guiding the nation toward prosperity through advancements in information technology.

He emphasized that this visit has infused him with renewed energy and motivation to enhance Nepal's AI sector. The Nepali delegation, led by Minister Kharel, explored the AI City, AI Center, and the various initiatives undertaken there. During his time at the AI City Center, Minister Kharel stated, “The experience at Korea's AI Smart City Center has enriched my knowledge and understanding, which will be instrumental in developing the AI center in Nepal.”

In addition to his visit to the AI Smart City Center, he engaged in discussions with local officials and experts about the potential, benefits, and future of AI technology. The forum was co-organized by Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) and the National Information Society Agency (NIA).

Minister Kharel noted that the Leadership Forum was both valuable and productive for advancing Digital Nepal and its digital transformation initiatives.

Leading the Nepali delegation, Communications Minister Kharel had traveled to South Korea on November 11 to attend the 11th 'Global ICT Leadership Forum' held in Seoul.
