Nepal T20 Cricket League: Kathmandu Knights thrash Janakpur Royals by 90 runs

Kathmandu Knights have thumped Janakpur Royals by a wide margin of 90 runs in a match today at Kirtipur-based Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground under the first edition of the ongoing Nepal T20 Cricket League.

With this win, Kathmandu Knights are placed in third position with six points from three wins out of six matches. Similarly, Janakpur Royals is in second position with eight points from four wins from eight matches.

Lumbini All Stars have topped the score board with 10 points from five wins out of six matches.

Chasing a target of 181 posted by the winning team, Janakpur Royals were restricted to only 90 in 19.1 overs at the loss of all wickets. For the team, Sharafuddin Ashraf hit highest 33, Sompal Kami 21, and Khadka Bohara 10.

For Kathmandu Knights, Abinash Bohara took four wickets, Azmatullah Omarzai two, and Kamal Singh Airee, Anil Kharel and Bashir Ahmed one each.

Invited to bat first after winning the toss, Kathmandu Knights made 180 in allotted 20 overs losing six wickets. For the team, Sunam Gautam hit highest 62 , Rayan Burl 61, Alex Blake 20, Omarzai 10, and Lokesh Bam seven.

For Janakpur Royals, Jitendra Mukhiya took two wickets, and Ashraf and Captain Trevon Griffith one each.

Winner of the Nepal T-20 Cricket League will get Rs 5.5 million in cash, and first runner-up Rs 3 million.
