One killed in UN Park pile-up

A young man died after a car hit four other vehicles near UN Park in Lalitpur on Thursday evening.

According to the District Police Range, Lalitpur, a private car, Ba. Pra 01-029 Cha 3896, heading to UN Bridge from Kupondole Bridge hit four vehicles coming from the opposite direction near UN Park this evening.

The deceased has been identified as Rajiv Sinha of Gaur Municipality-9, Rautahat. Sinha, the scooter rider, who was reportedly traveling toward the UN Bridge from Kupondole, sustained critical injuries.

He was rushed to Norvic Hospital for treatment, where he breathed his last in the course of treatment, said the police.

Police said they have taken the car driver, 20-year-old Rohit Ranjitkar of Nagarjun Municipality-6, Kathmandu, into custody and are investigating the case.
