Lumbini Lions advanced to the final of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) Season 2 by defeating Biratnagar Kings by 40 runs in the Qualifier 2 held in Kirtipur on Thursday evening.
With the win, Lumbini will now face Sudurpaschim for the title. The final match is scheduled for Saturday 3:30 pm.
Lumbini bowled out Biratnagar for 94 runs in 17.5 overs while the latter was chasing the 135-run target.

To limit Biratnagar to the paltry 94-run score, Tilak Bhandari took the highest 3 wickets giving away 15 runs. Similarly, Ruben Trumpelmann, JJ Smit and Abhishesh Gautam claimed 2 wickets each while Sher Malla grabbed 1 wicket for Lumbini.
Sam Heazlett's 34-run score was the highest for Biratnagar. Heazlett hit 2 fours and 2 sixes off 28 deliveries. Naren Bhatta scored 21 runs followed by Marchant de Lange with 17 runs while the other batsmen could not score any significant runs.
Earlier, Iivited to bat first after losing the toss at the TU International Cricket Ground on Thursday, Lumbini notched up 134 runs losing 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

D'Arcy Short topped the score with 45 runs including 3 fours and 1 six off 41 deliveries followed by Rohit Paudel with 34 runs while Noroshan Dickwella contributed 29 runs. Similarly, Ruben Trumpelmann scored 11 runs. The other batsmen could not achieve significant runs.
In reply, Subash Bhandari and Pratis GC took 3 wickets each followed by captain Sandeep Lamichhane with 2 wickets for Biratnagar.
