The Armed Police Force Nepal is preparing to operate in coordination with other security agencies to ensure that the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) election is conducted in a transparent, fair and fear-free environment.

APF Nepal has stated that preparations are underway to mobilize according to the 'Integrated Security Plan for the Election to the House of Representatives Members, 2082' in line with the policy to provide reliable security to make the upcoming general election on March 5 successful.

The Armed Police Force has formulated and implemented the 'Policy for the Deployment of Armed Police Force Nepal in the Security Operation of House of Representatives Member Election 2082' for that purpose.

APF Nepal's spokesperson and Deputy Inspector General Manish Thapa said that preparations have been made to maximally deploy the available means and resources to flawlessly carry out the responsibilities assigned by the government according to the Integrated Election Security Plan.

In the press conference held at the APF Nepal Headquarters at local Halchowk today, DIG Thapa stated that based on security challenges, constituencies would be classified as highly sensitive, sensitive, and normal, and responsibilities would be assigned accordingly.

The Armed Police Force will be deployed in the second layer of security for election security and will operate in coordination with other security bodies.

For supervision, coordination and facilitation on matters related to election security, a Central Election Cell will be established at the Armed Police Force Headquarters, an Armed Force Election Cell at each brigade headquarters, and an Election Cell in each battalion/company with operational responsibility in the district.

The policy states that Armed Police Force's personnel will be deployed, with necessary logistical support, as the mobile, striking, QRT reserve at the constituency security, security base, command post, joint election operation center, district election, and offices of the Chief Election Officer for election security.

The APF Nepal stated that a policy has been adopted to control anti-election activities and criminal activities, exchange election security information and operate in a coordinated manner as needed, and to operate effectively in border areas in coordination and cooperation with peer security agencies.
