Gold grips Valley as mercury drops to 5.4 degrees

The temperature is going down across the country, including the Kathmandu Valley.

The minimum temperature of the Kathmandu Valley was recorded at 5.4 degrees Celsius at 5:45 am today, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology informed Nepalkhabar.

The official minimum temperature for today will be measured again at 8:45 am this morning. At that time, there is a possibility that the Valley's minimum temperature might decrease further.

The minimum temperature of the Kathmandu Valley, which was 8.6 degrees Celsius on December 5, has been continuously decreasing since then.

The Department of Meteorology measures two types of temperatures—minimum and maximum—for various locations across the country, including Kathmandu, every day.

According to meteorologists, the minimum temperature is usually measured at 8:45 am, and the maximum temperature is measured at 5:45 pm.
