The election for the new leadership under the CPN (UML)'s 11th General Convention is currently underway at Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu today.
The UML's Election Commission has already published the final-list of candidates on Tuesday morning, following claims, counter-claims, complaints, and scrutiny regarding the candidates who filed for various posts.
According to Dr Bijay Subba, Chairman of the Election Commission, voting will be held for a total of 351 positions, including the 301-member Central Committee, the 25-member Audit Commission, and the 25-member Disciplinary Commission.

Out of the 19 office-bearers in the Central Committee, there are two candidates for Chairman, 11 for Vice-Chairman, two for General Secretary, 6 for Deputy General Secretary, and 20 for Secretary vying for the positions.
Voting for all these posts will take place today via 80 electronic voting machines. Technical preparations for this are currently underway.
Meanwhile, candidates and their supports are currently lobbying in favor of their leaders.
