Rastriya Swatandra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane has been released after submitting a bank guarantee of Rs 37.484 million.
This submitted amount covers both Rs 10 million bail and the Rs 27.484 million claim.
Lamichhane was freed from the prison after submitting the bank guarantee equivalent to the amount demanded, said information officer at the court, Padam Aryal. "Lamichhane has been released after submitting the bank guarantee as per the High Court order," Aryal told Nepalkhabar.
Lamichhane had earlier submitted Rs 10 million as bail and a bank guarantee of Rs 27.484 million during the bail hearing.
He was released on Friday evening as per the order of the Butwal Bench of High Court, Tulsipur on Thursday.
According to the court order, Lamichhane must obtain court permission before traveling abroad and submit any additional amount in liability, if required, during the final hearing.
