Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is set to assign the second rank in seniority to Balendra Shah after Rabi Lamichhane as per the agreement.

Shah and Lamichhane have reached a new agreement according to which President Lamichhane will work as the president of the party while Balendra has been designated as the prime ministerial candidate for the upcoming elections.

Though it has not been explicitly mentioned in the agreement paper, the taskforce member Shishir Khanal told Nepalkhabar that Balen has been entrusted the second rank after Rabi in the party.

"It is not in the agreement paper. Balen ji prefered to become only the CC member. But the leader, who is in the prime ministerial fray should not be limited to merely to the post of a CC member," Khanal told Nepalkhabar. "He has been proposed for the second rank after Rabi in the party. His name will be called after Rabi in the party meeting."

He further said, "While Rabi will look after the leadership issues, Balen will look after parliamentary issues.

Rabi and Balen have reached a unity deal after a six-hour long negotiation on Saturday night.

According to the agreement, Rabi will oversee the leadership issues in the party while Balen will field himself as the prime ministerial candidate in the upcoming elections.
