Last Wednesday, Erling Haaland of Manchester City established a new record in the English Premier League. He owns the league record for the quickest 20 goals in league history.
Haaland broke the record when he scored against Leeds United. Without suffering any significant injuries, Haaland has improved his chances of earning the Golden Boot this season.
Haaland also scored in Saturday's 1-1 tie with Everton. In addition, he has 21 goals in the league this season. Harry Kane has 13 goals, placing him second on the list of best scorers.

Erling Haaland – 14 games
Manchester City have scored 44 goals in 16 games this season as they were held to a 1-1 draw with Everton on Saturday. Out of which 21 goals have been scored by Haaland. This Norwegian footballer has been playing at a similar level as last season.
Kevin Phillips – 21 games
Kevin Phillips of England scored 20 goals in 21 games during the 1999/2000 Premier League season. He finished the season with 30 goals and won the Golden Boot. Prior to being surpassed by Haaland, he was the Premier League's fastest player to score 20 goals.
Andy Cole – 23 games
Andy Cole of England is in third position to score fastest 30 goals. He has also scored the fourth most goals in the Premier League thus far. It took him 23 Premier League appearances to achieve 20 goals.
He held the record throughout the Premier League's inaugural season. In that 1993/94 season, he scored 34 goals in 40 appearances for Newcastle United.
Ruud van Nistelrooy – 26 games
Nistelrooy, who joined United from PSV Ndoven in the 2001/02 season, crossed the milestone of 20 goals in 26 games. The Dutch was a key player in the team during his time at Manchester United. He moved to Real Madrid in 2006.
Diego Costa – 26 games
Costa, who joined Chelsea in 2014, had a stellar season in the Premier League that year. He scored 20 goals in 26 games and was important in the squad winning the title in 2014/15.
Tony Yeboye – 26 games
Another player to reach 20 goals in 26 Premier League games is Tony Yeboye. He joined Leeds United in January 1995. This player from Ghana performed brilliantly after joining the team.
Fernando Torres – 27 games
Spain's Fernando Torres joined Liverpool in 2007. He came from Atletico Madrid and became an important player of the team. He completed the milestone of 20 goals in 27 matches.
Alan Shearer – 29 games
Shearer, who scored the most goals in the Premier League so far, had to play 29 games to reach 20 goals in the Premier League. The England player crossed the milestone from Blackburn Rovers. He led the team to the league title in two seasons.
