Nepali Congress (NC) is holding a Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting after it received recognition from the Election Commission, Nepal (ECN).

The meeting is scheduled to take place at New Baneshwar at 11:30 am, the sources have said.

The Election Commission granted recognition to Gagan Thapa-led Nepali Congress on Friday evening.

The second Special Convention of Nepali Congress held at Bhrikuti Mandap in Kathmnadu from January 11 to 13 had elected a new CWC led by Thapa as the President.

Despite claims for legitimacy by both establishment faction led by Sher Bahadur Deuba and Gagan Thapa faction, the latter one received the recognition.

Earlier, the NC CWC meeting had taken place at Kupandol in Lalitpur on January 15, first time following the election through the Special General Convention.
