Mina Singh Rakhal from Dailekh has been elected as a member of the National Assembly in the elections held on Sunday.
CPN (UML) leader Rakhal, who originally hails from Narayan Municipality of Dailekh, has been elected with 26 votes out of 39 cast under Province Assembly. Similarly, she obtained 93 votes out of 152 votes cast under the local units.
Her rival Anju Mahatara received 13 votes under the Province Assembly and 55 from the local units.
Rakhal had joined CPN (UML) in 2047 BS. She had started her political career as a UML municipal committee member in 2054 BS.
Likewise, she had become a central committee member twice through the 9th and 10th General Convention of UML. Similarly, she had become province assembly member under the proportional representation (PR) in 2074 BS.
