Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP), Nepal Chairman Upendra Yadav has said that the protection of the federal system in the country depends solely on the strong presence and vigilance of Madhesh.
He reminded that since Madhesh is the mother of federalism, federalism was established in the country as a result of the struggle, sacrifice and movement of Madhesh.
"There are efforts to show federalism as a failure, reduce rights and return it to centralized governance," Chairman Yadav, who is in the Saptari election campaign, said while addressing voters on Sunday, "But if Madhesh are aware, no such conspiracy will succeed."
JSP Nepal Chairman Yadav, who is also a candidate for the House of Representatives from Saptari Constituency 3, has expressed serious concern over the ongoing attacks on federalism and accused some forces of conspiring to weaken and ultimately end the federal system.
"Federalism has been established in the country because of the firm stance of Madhesh. If Madhesh do not raise their voice, federalism will be limited to paper only. Madhesh has always stood at the forefront in protecting its rights," said Chairman Yadav.
He clarified that any attempt to weaken the power of Madhesh is ultimately an attempt to weaken federalism.
"If Madhesh is weakened, federalism will not exist. Therefore, strengthening Madhesh politically, economically and administratively is an indispensable need today," he stressed.
Addressing the election rally, Chairman Yadav has made a public appeal to the general public to strengthen JSP Nepal through voting for the protection of federalism, ensuring rights and protecting self-respect.
