Dhading bus mishap: Nine among 19 killed identified (name-list)

Only nine of the 19 people who died in the bus accident in Dhading in the wee hours on Monday have been identified so far.

Police Spokesperson of the District Police Office, Dhading, DSP Prakash Dahal, informed that nine of the dead have been identified and the identities of the remaining 10 are yet to be established.

The ill-fated bus (Ga 2 Kha 1421) that was leaving Pokhara for Kathmandu fell into the Trishuli River bank near Charaundi in Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality-7 of Dhading along the Prithvi Highway.

The identified victims include one foreign national and eight Nepali nationals.

The deceased are 24-year-old British citizen Stewart Dominic Ethan, 40-year-old Bivek Basnet, a resident of Pokhara Metropolitan City-30, Kaski, and 63-year-old Chandra Bahadur Dhenkar, a resident of Waling-14, Syangja and currently residing in Nagarjun Municipality-6 in Kathmandu, DSP Dahal said.

Similarly, Om Kumar Malla, a resident of Byas Rural Municipality-4, Tanahun, Engineer Dhungana, a resident of Tripurasundari Rural Municipality-4, Dhading, Bishnu Maya Dhakal, a resident of Shukla Gandaki Rural Municipality-7, Tanahu, Lomang Gole, a resident of Boudha Tusal, Kathmandu, Hari Prasad Sigdel, a resident of Bhiman Municipality-6, Tanahu, and Nabindra Shrestha, a resident of Tansen Municipality-1, Palpa, are among the deceased, DSP Dahal said.

The other 10 bodies are yet to be identified. According to the police, a total of 25 people, including 14 at the Trauma Center, 10 at the National Hospital Kalanki, and one at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj, are undergoing treatment. Forty-four people were traveling in the bus.
