Govt grants 3-day public holiday for HoR polls

The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a public notice on Thursday, announcing a three-day nationwide public holiday for the House of Representatives elections scheduled for March 5.

According to the notice, the government has decided to grant public holidays across the country on March 4, 5, and 6.

The notice, signed by Joint Secretary and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ananda Kafle, states, "In the context of the House of Representatives Member Election scheduled for March 5, 2026, the Government of Nepal has decided to grant a 3-day public holiday nationwide from March 4 to March 6, 2026. This notice has been published for the information of all concerned."
