Shishir Khanal, the candidate of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has been re-elected as a member of the House of Representatives (HoR) from Kathmandu Constituency 6. According to the latest vote count updates, Khanal won with 27,711 votes. He defeated his nearest rival by a wide margin of more than 21,000 votes.
Khanal's nearest rival, Krishna Baniya Chhetri of Nepali Congress, received 6,647 votes. CPN-UML candidate Aman Kumar Maskey obtained 4,373 votes. Similarly, Uddhav Raj Bhetuwal of RPP received 290 votes and Hemlal Sharma of Nepali Communist Party received 231 votes.
Khanal was previously elected from the same constituency in the 2079 election. Khanal, who had received 14,221 votes the previous time, has almost doubled his public vote this time.
