Prachanda of Nepali Communist Party wins from Rukum East

 Coordinator of the Nepali Communist Party (NCP) and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has been elected from Rukum East in the House of Representatives (HoR) elections.

In the vote counting completed today, Prachanda won the election by securing 10,240 votes out of a total 19,188 votes cast.

Prachanda won the poll by defeating his rival with a margin of 6,778 votes.

Prachanda's nearest rival Leelamani Gautam of CPN (UML) got 3,462 votes while Kusum Devi Thapa of Nepali Congress secured 3,081 votes, the Chief Returning Officer of Rukum Purba Shiva Prasad Khanal said.

Out of total 34,772 voters, a total of 19,188 votes were cast in the HoR election happened on March 5.
