RSP wins 30 out of 32 seats in Madhesh Province

Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has won 30 seats out of 32 constituencies in Madhesh Province in the House of Representatives elections. This result has created a new history in Madhesh politics. NC has won one seat here. The results of one seat are yet to be announced.

NC has maintained its credibility in this province, which has eight districts, while the big parties, UML, Nepali Communist Party (NCP) and Madhesh pro-democracy parties, have not been able to save their existence. The results are yet to be announced, and RSP also has the majority of votes in Dhanusha Constituency 1. However, the results are stalled after the Election Commission banned the publication of the results due to controversy.

According to the results of the election held on February 21, RSP has won all 4/4 constituencies in 6 districts including Saptari, Siraha, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Rautahat, and Parsa by a huge margin. In Bara, Congress has won one seat and RSP has won the remaining 3 seats. RSP has won in all three constituencies except for the disputed Dhanusha 1.

Saptari
In Saptari Constituency 1, RSP Pushpa Kumari Chaudhary has won by getting 38,195 votes, while her nearest rival Sumit Kumar of Swabhiman Party has got 7,847 votes. In Saptari 2, RSP's Ramji Yadav has won by getting 28,404 votes, while Umesh Yadav of JSP Nepal has come second by getting 14,273 votes, and Dr CK Raut of Janamat Party has come third by getting 9,880 votes.

In Saptari 3, RSP's Amar Kant Chaudhary has won with 32,875 votes, while his nearest rival JSP Nepal Chairman Upendra Yadav finished third by receiving 15,239 votes. In Saptari 4, Sitaram Sah of RSP won with 36,412 votes, while Tejulal Chaudhary of Nepali Congress secured third position with 13,103 votes.

Siraha
In Siraha Constituency 1, RSP's Bablu Yadav Gupta of was elected with 41,322 votes. His nearest rival, Ram Sundar Chaudhary of Nepali Congress, received 9,784 votes.

In Siraha Constituency 2, Shiva Shankar Yadav of RSP won with 39,561 votes, while Ram Sandri Yadav of Nepali Congress came in second with 12,800 votes.

Similarly, in Constituency 3, Shambhu Kumar Yadav of the RSP was elected with 32,949 votes, while Leela Nath Shrestha of Himalaya Dal came in second with 10,126 votes.

In Constituency 4, Tapeshwar Yadav of RSP won with 36,210 votes, while Ajay Shankar Nayak of Nepali Congress came in second with 7,979 votes.

Dhanusha
The results of Dhanusha Constituency 1 are still in dispute, so the results have been withheld.

In Constituency 2, Ram Binod Yadav of RSP has been elected with 41,637 votes. His nearest rival, Dinesh Prasad Yadav of Nepali Congress finished second with 10,198 votes. In Constituency 3, Manish Jha of RSP won with 43,988 votes, while NC's Bimalendra Nidhi came in third with 16,652 votes. Nidhi, who is also the party's former vice president, has won five elections from this constituency.

In Constituency 4, RSP's Rajkishore Mahato won by a huge margin of 48,270 votes, defeating two veteran leaders of NC and UML. NC candidate Mahendra Yadav came in second with 15,809 votes, and Raghubir Mahaseth came in third with 11,529 votes. Yadav is a former joint general secretary of Nepali Congress, while Mahaseth has been winning from this constituency three times continuously. He is the deputy general secretary of UML.

Sarlahi
In Sarlahi Constituency 1, Niti Bhandari Karki of RSP has won by a huge margin with 46,181 votes, while Shambhu Lal Shrestha of Nepali Congress is in second place with 7,871 votes.

In Constituency 2, RSP's Rabin Mahato has been elected with 42,512 votes. His closest rival, Mahindra Raya Yadav of Nepali Congress got only 8,523 votes. He has been winning elections from this constituency repeatedly. Likewise, Rajendra Mahato of Rastriya Mukti Party secured the fourth place with only 5,992 votes.

In Constituency 3, RSP's Narendra Sah Kalwar won with 46,890 votes, while NCP's Narayan Kaji Shrestha came in second with 13,338 votes.

In Constituency 4, RSP's Amresh Kumar Singh  has won with 35,628 votes. One of the heavyweight leaders competing with him, Congress President Gagan Thapa, was limited to 22,831 votes. When Thapa was announced as the prime ministerial candidate from Congress, Sarlahi 4, considered to be the most important constituency in the country, was considered after Jhapa.

Mahottari
In Constituency 1, RSP's Pramod Kumar Mahato won with 34,636 votes, while Giriraj Mani Pokharel of NCP came in second with 12,624 votes.

In Constituency 2, Deepak Kumar Sah of RSP was elected with 32,722 votes. Sah defeated Sharat Singh of JSP Nepal, who had won 13 times in 15 elections, by a huge margin. Bhandari managed to get only 10,198 votes. This is only about one-third.

In Constituency 3, RSP candidate Ujjwal Kumar Jha won by getting 32,415 votes, while his closest rival, Nepal Federal Socialist Party Chairman Mohammad Rizwan Ansari, got 5,969 votes.

In Constituency 4, RSP candidate Gauri Kumari won with 30,132 votes.
