Nepali Communist Party (NCP) has expressed its objection to the Election Commission (EC) for not handing over the certificate even after its candidate, Matrika Yadav, was elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Dhanusha Constituency 1.
NCP Central Office Secretary Govinda Acharya issued a statement on Monday morning, saying that the party has drawn serious attention to the fact that the EC has not handed over Yadav's certificate of election even after the results of the election were made public.
"The Election Commission meeting held on March 2, 2026, has already rejected the candidacy of Kishori Sah of Rastriya Swatantra Party as per the Election Act, 2074, and the fact that the winning candidate was not given a certificate is a matter of serious concern," Acharya said in a statement.
NCP has emphasized that it is not legal to not distribute the certificate to a person when someone's candidacy has already been legally rejected. "Our party urges constitutional bodies like the Election Commission to follow the rule of law and work impartially without any political pressure," the statement said.
According to the final vote results, Matrika Yadav has received 10,430 votes in Dhanusha 1. Nepali Congress candidate Rampaltan Sah has received 9,485 votes and CPN (UML) candidate Ramchandra Mandal has received 9,220 votes.
