The body of a teenage girl was found in the Janajagaran Community Forest in Birendranagar-4, Surkhet on Saturday. A police team reached the scene after receiving news of the discovery of the body.
Following the investigation, the police identified the body as 16-year-old Inisha BK of Birendranagar-1.
Anisha, an 11th grader, had left her home around 6 am on Saturday to take a practical exam at school. She was a student of class 11 at Usha Bal Batika Secondary School in Birendranagar-6.
Inisha had left home without even eating breakfast to take the exam. Her mother was waiting for her to come home for food. However, three hours after leaving home, her mother heard the news that her daughter's body was found in the jungle.
When Anisha left home, she told her mother, "I have a practical exam at school and I will be back soon."
"Mom, I have a practical exam today. "I'll go after having tea," her mother Tila BK told Nepalkhabar, recalling the conversation her daughter had before leaving home. "She said she would be back soon for food. I prepared food and waited for her. My daughter didn't come back."
She contacted the school after her daughter was late. However, she learned that the school would not open on Saturday. Then her relatives started searching for her.
During the search, the mother received news that Anisha had been found in the Janajagaran Community Forest near her house. Mother Tila hurriedly went to the forest.
Anisha was found unconscious in the jungle. Mother Tila, who reached the scene, saw blood flowing from her daughter's waist below. "Her hair was disheveled. There was blood all over her body," she said. "My daughter's body was not in a condition to be seen."
When Anisha was taken to the hospital from there, the doctor pronounced her dead.
During the investigation, police said that Anisha had left home on Saturday, pretending to go to school to meet her boyfriend.
Relatives have filed a police complaint alleging that Inisha was raped and murdered. They are demanding an impartial investigation and action against the culprits.
The District Police Office, Surkhet, has also initiated an investigation on the suspicion that Anisha was raped and murdered.
Police have arrested four people, including a teenager from Latikoili, Birendranagar-9, on suspicion of involvement in the rape and murder of Inisha. According to police, one of the arrested teenagers and Anisha study in the same school.
According to police sources, police have discovered that Anisha and the arrested teenagers used to communicate on social media platforms such as WhatsApp. Initial police investigations revealed that they were in a romantic relationship.
However, it is not yet clear why they murdered Inisha.
