Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane has said that he is committed to the current constitution and political system.
Addressing an orientation program organized by RSP for newly elected lawmakers, President Lamichhane said that he has strong faith in the democratic system. “I believe in the democratic system,” Lamichhane said.
While RSP has faced criticism regarding its stance on the current constitution and political system, the party's leadership remained notably silent on these issues during the election campaign.
Addressing a formal program for the first time after the election, President Lamichhane expressed his commitment to the current constitution. “I am committed to the current constitution and the political system,” he said.
He pointed out the need for some reforms in the form of governance. RSP has expressed its commitment to all other issues.
"While we acknowledge the need for reform as our presence in government expands," Lamichhane told the HoR-elect MPs, "our loyalty to the current constitutional framework is unwavering. I have full confidence that our MPs will uphold this commitment."
