SEE examinee count declines; 23 students to appear from Japan

The number of students appearing in this year's Secondary Education Examination (SEE) has decreased.

The Controller of Secondary Education Examination (SEE) for Grade 10, under the National Examination Board, Tukraj Adhikari, said that the number of examinees has decreased by 4,000 this year compared to last year. According to the officer, 510,000 students will appear in the SEE exam this year. Last year, 514,071 students took part in the SEE.

Of the students appearing in the SEE this year, 63,000 are exempted. Similarly, 23 students from Japan will take the SEE.

The National Examination Board has stated that the preparation for the SEE has reached the final stage. Only a few districts are yet to send the question papers, said the Examination Controller, Adhikari.

He said that the question papers, symbol numbers, answer sheets and other materials for the exam will be delivered to all districts by March 28. Discussions have been held with the Central Security Committee of four security agencies to make the exam a success and dignified.

This year's SEE is being conducted from April 2 to April 12. The SEE exam has been postponed by two weeks due to the elections on March 5. The Board has stated that it plans to publish the SEE results in the first week of July.
