RSP leader Shishir Khanal to head Foreign Ministry

Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is set to appoint Shishir Khanal as the Minister for Foreign Affairs. It has been decided that Khanal, who is also the head of the Foreign Affairs Department of RSP, will become the Minister for Foreign Affairs in the government led by Balendra Shah.

He won the House of Representatives elections from Kathmandu Constituency-6 in the 2022 House of Representatives election. Khanal, who became the Minister of Education on 17 January, 2023, had resigned from the post within 19 days.

He was elected from Kathmandu-6 in the House of Representatives election held on March 5. Khanal, who was born in Chundi, Tanahun, passed his SLC from Siddhartha Banasthali School. 

Khanal, who completed his ISC from Trichandra College, completed his bachelor's and master's degrees from the United States. He graduated in Political Economy from the University of Connecticut, USA, and completed his master's degree in Public Policy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Khanal, who is also the director of the cargo company 'Pick and Drop', is known as a foreign affairs and policy expert. Khanal used to manage diplomatic meetings in RSP as the head of the Foreign Affairs Department. Khanal has made a decent and balanced identity in national politics.
