Ten young people under 40 years of age have become ministers in the Balendra Shah (Balen)-led government.
In previous governments, the old parties had only appointed one or two youths as youth ministers. This time, 10 youth ministers have been appointed.
Balen, who has been appointed as the Prime Minister of Nepal, is himself a 36-year-old youth.
At a time when the youth, fed up with the old faces that have been seen for years, are looking for a new face to lead the country, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) won 282 seats in the House of Representatives elections held on March 5.
In which 53 youths were elected under the first-past-the-post (FPTP) system.
Sobita Gautam, 30, elected from Chitwan (3), has taken the oath as the Law Minister. She studied law.
Similarly, Sudhan Gurung, who came to the limelight from the Gen Z movement, has taken the oath as the Home Minister. The 38-year-old Gurung also played a major role in reconciling Rabi Lamichhane and Balen Shah. He is an elected MP from Gorkha 2.
Likewise, MP from the proportional representation category, Pratibha Rawal, has taken the oath as the Minister for General Administration. She is 32 years old.
Geeta Chaudhary, the MP from the Tharu women's cluster on the proportional category, took the oath as the Minister for Agriculture. Chaudhary, 33, is a social and human rights activist.
Similarly, Deepak Sah, elected from Mahottari, has been sworn in as the Minister for Labor. He is 34 years old.
Similarly, Sasmit Pokharel, elected from Kathmandu 3, has taken the oath as the Minister for Education. He is the youngest among the list of ministers so far in the Balen-led cabinet.
Sita Badi, who became the MP from the proportional representation category, representing the Badi community, took the oath as the Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens. She is 30 years old.
Similarly, 38-year-old Nisha Mahato has taken the oath as the Minister for Health and Population. Likewise, Sunil Lamsal, 35, took the oath as the Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport.
