The United States (US) has congratulated newly elected Prime Minister of Nepal Balendra Shah (Balen).
The US Embassy in Kathmandu congratulated Balen on social media.
"Congratulations to Prime Minister of Nepal Balendra Shah and the new government. The United States looks forward to working with Nepal to advance mutual prosperity and regional stability," the US Embassy said.
The US has said it stands ready to work with Nepal.
