Govt decides to give two days off a week; new academic session to start from April 28

The government has decided to start the next academic session from April 28

A cabinet meeting held at the Office of Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers (OPMCM) Sunday decided to delay the academic session by 13 days.

Earlier, the new academic session used to start on April 15.

Government spokesperson and Education Minister Sasmit Pokharel informed that the cabinet meeting held today decided to start the next academic session on April 28.

Similarly, the government has also decided to give two days off a week, Saturday and Sunday, to educational institutions.

According to the new arrangement, government offices other than educational institutions will now open at 9 am and will operate until 5 pm. Earlier, the office hours were from 10 am to 5 pm.

Informing about the meeting, government spokesperson and Education Minister Pokharel said, "The office hours of the mentioned offices, except for educational institutions, have been fixed from 9 am to 5 pm."
