United Nations General Secretary Antonio Guterres has congratulated Balendra Shah on his assumption of office as the Prime Minister of Nepal.
In a statement addressed to Prime Minister Shah, UN General Secretary Shah said, "I am pleased to congratulate you on your assumption of office as Prime Minister of Nepal and wish you success in the exercise of your functions."
Stating that the new generation is calling for decisive progress, greater integrity in public life and institutions that deliver for citizens, Guterres expressed readiness to support the Nepal government.
He further said that the United Nations including the country team in Nepal, remains committed to a strong and enduring partnership in line with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Meanwhile, he also expressed appreciation for the continued engagement of Nepal with the United Nations and its commitment to multilateral cooperation.
