French Ambassador to Nepal Virginie Corteval paid a courtesy call on Minister for Foreign Affairs Shishir Khanal on Monday.
During the meeting held at the Office of the Foreign Ministry in Singha Durbar this afternoon, the minister and the ambassador discussed strengthening cooperation in the fields of tourism, investment, climate change and sustainable ecology in Nepal.
"During the courtesy call on, views were exchanged to further deepen Nepal-France relations, with a focus on cooperation in areas of tourism, investment, and climate change and mountain ecology," the Foreign Ministry said in an update made public on social media.
Similarly, Minister Khanal also met with Ken Shimizu, Nepal Representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), on Monday.
"Matters relating to further advancing Nepal-FAO cooperation were discussed during the courtesy meeting," the Foreign Ministry mentioned on X.
Many tourists from friendly country France and other European countries visit Nepal. The discussions have indicated that the relationship between the two countries could also be expanded to include industry and trade.
