The death toll from the Bolero jeep accident in Rolpa district has climbed to 20 after three more people were confirmed dead.
Seventeen people had died on the spot when the ill-fated Bolero jeep ((Lu 1 Ja 4167) fell some 800 meters off the hilly road at Jaljala in Thawang Rural Municipality-1, DSP Birendra Bahadur Bishwakarma said.
The accident took place around at 2:45 pm when the Bolero jeep was heading to attend a Mahotsav in Jaljala on the occasion of Baisakh Purnima from Sisne Rural Municipality in Rukum East.
DSP Bishwakarma said that the rescue operation was delayed due to the complex geography of the accident site and the rain. It is yet to be confirmed the cause of the accident and the number of people traveling in the jeep.
