Nepal is currently under the influence of a westerly low-pressure system coupled with local winds in the lower atmosphere near the eastern belt of the country.
It is generally cloudy weather in Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali provinces as well as mountainous and hilly regions in the rest of the country. The remaining Tarai areas is partly cloudy.
Similarly, rainfall is taking place at one or two places of Koshi and Bagmati provinces.
According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, generally cloudy conditions are expected in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini Provinces as well as hilly and mountainous regions of the rest of the country.
Light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is likey at some places in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini Provinces and few places in other provinces.
Tonight, generally cloudy weather is likely in Koshi Province as well as hilly and mountainous regions of the country. There is a chance of moderate rainfall along with thunder and lightning at some places in Koshi Province and few places in hilly and mountainous regions of Madhesh, Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces.
Additionally, light rainfall and snowfall along with thunder and lightning is possible at one or two places in the hilly and mountainous regions of the remaining provinces, the weather service added.
