The Supreme Court has issued a short-term interim order staying the government's decision to dissolve the student organizations.

A single bench of Supreme Court Justice Shrikant Paudel on Monday issued the short-term order. Along with this, both parties have been called for discussions to decide whether to grant an interim order.

The government had dissolved the student organizations from the university through an ordinance. Similarly, it had also dissolved the Free Student Union (FSU).

Following the government's decision, leaders of various student organizations, including ANNFSU President Deepak Dhami, had moved the Supreme Court arguing that the decision is against the constitutional provision.

On May 3, they had filed a writ petition demanding the annulment of the decision to dissolve the student organization. The Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers were made defendants in the writ.
