Uber, the popular ride-hailing company, has officially launched its services in Nepal, on Friday, making Nepal its11th market in the Asia-Pacific region.
Uber said it has launched Uber Go and Uber Comfort for four-wheelers and Bike for two-wheelers in Nepal.
According to the company, it will provide passengers with a simple, reliable and convenient transportation option. Uber currently operates in more than 70 countries. By connecting Nepal to its global network, the company has said that it will provide local and international passengers with a convenient travel service through a single app.
Dominic Tyler, Uber's APAC Regional General Manager (Rides), said that Nepal is an important market for Uber due to rapid urbanization, digital accessibility and tourism growth.
According to the company, the potential for modern ride-hailing services in Nepal is high due to the growth of smartphone users, expansion of tourism and the growing demand for convenient transportation services.
Uber was registered in Nepal on July 16, 2017.
