Prime Minister of Nepal, Balendra Shah, has congratulated the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, on his landmark achievement as the longest serving Prime Minister of India.
Taking to X, Prime Minister Shah said, "Warmest congratulations to Shri @narendramodi ji on your landmark achievement as India's longest-serving elected PM."
Shah also wished Indian Prime Minister Modi good health and continued progress and prosperity for the people of India on the occasion.
He further said that the Government of Nepal deeply values age-old friendly ties and looks forward to further strengthening ties between the two countries in the days to come.
"We deeply value our ties & look forward to further strengthening them," reads the X message posted by Prime Minister Shah.
Modi has been serving as the elected Prime Minister of India for 12 years (4,399 days), having first taken the oath of office on May 26, 2014, officially surpassing the record held by the first elected Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru, who served for 4,398 days.
