Rape-accused cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane is being released today.
High Court Patan on Thursday ordered the release of Cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane on a bail of Rs 2 million.
However, he is being released only today (Friday) since he could not furnish the bail demanded yesterday.
A joint bench of Judges Dhruba Bhattarai and Ramesh Dhakal issued the order to release Lamichhane on bail, reversing the Kathmandu District Court's decision.
With the decision, Lamichhane will be allowed to participate in the cricket matches.
He is released with certain conditions such as he has to inform the Kathmandu District Police Range in case he needs to go out of the Kathmandu Valley for urgent reasons.
In the written information, he has to mention the date of departure, the date of return, and the place he will stay while outside the Kathmandu Valley, according to the order issued by the High Court.
