Minister for Labor, Employment and Social Security Dol Prasad Aryal.

Vice Chairman and Minister for Labor, Employment and Social Security Dol Prasad Aryal has been appointed as the Acting Chairman of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).

An emergency central committee (CC) meeting of the party held this evening appointed Aryal to the post after the Supreme Court scrapped Lamichhane's post as the chairman of the party, rendering him stateless.

According to Dr. Mukul Dhakal, the general secretary and the spokesperson of the party, Aryal has also been elected as the parliamentary party (PP) leader.

A CC meeting held at the party office in Basundhara decided to implement the verdict issued by the Supreme Court. Dhakal said that the party will inform the Election Commission about this decision on Sunday.

"The CC meeting decided to implement the decision taken by the Supreme Court and move ahead after consultation with the legal experts," Dr. Dhakal told Nepalkhabar.

Hearing on Lamichhane's citizenship case on Friday, Supreme Court issued a verdict declaring him stateless on the ground of procedural fault in retaining his citizenship.

With the verdict, Lamichhane has lost all his constitutional posts including Deputy Prime Minister, Home Minister, and the Member of Parliament.
