A 26-year-old Nepali nurse has been arrested on the charge of assaulting four elderly women in Australia.

Nepali nurse Ashmita Pandey was accused of slapping four octogenarian women for allegedly disobeying her and shouting out while working at Aged Care in 2022, Sydney-based media news reports said.

Another nurse working in the Aged Care had lodged a complaint against Ashmita with the police in the case.

Acting on the complaint, police had arrested Ashmita and investigated into the case after filing two cases against her in Parramatta Court in Sydney.

She had been charged for slapping and pushing the elderlies. She at Parramatta Court on Sunday had admitted that she slapped the elderlies.

The court will issue a final verdict on the case after hearing on March 17.

According to media reports, Ashmita might face maximum up to two years jail term, if found guilty.
