President Bidya Bhandari hosted a tea-reception for newly elected Members of Parliament (MPs) at Sheetal Niwas on Saturday afternoon.
She congratulated the newly elected lawmakers and wish them a successful tenure during the program, according to Sagar Acharya, the spokesperson at the Office of the President.
President Bhandari's second term is expiring on March 12 and the election for the new president is scheduled for March 9.
Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', House Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire, National Assembly Chairman Ganesh Timalsina, CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli, Madhav Kumar Nepal, ministers, parliamentarians, chiefs and representatives of constitutional bodies and security agencies as well as other high-ranking officials were present at the reception program.
The cultural reception was organized by President Bhandari one month before her retirement.
