A demonstration staged by transport workers organizations incurred a loss of millions of rupees at New Buspark area in Balaju on Monday.

Two mobile shops based at Lhotse Mall have been looted and vandalized by a mob.

Property worth Rs 80 million rupees was estimated to have been loosted after a hooligan barged into the mobile shops and decamped with the mobile sets of various brands, said Arjun Chalise, the proprietor of the mobile shop.

Chalise is also the vice chairman of Federation of Nepal Mobile Business Association.

Mobile business entrepreneurs across the country have been demanding due compensation for Chalise.

The irate workers demonstrated putting forth 10-point demands, including the demand to remove the provision of Rs. 1,500 fine for violating traffic rules and Rs. 100,000 fine for failing the vehicle pollution test.

Meanwhile, 10 individuals have been arrested in connection with the vandalism and robbery of the mobile shops.
